I live in Hong Kong, a constantly and rapidly changing metropolitan. As a person I am basically a guy who likes to fool around and play with computer, software and internet. My interest in IT and Internet has overwhelmingly taken me from my early day as a civil engineer to now a full time dedicated guy in the internet and media industry.As a manager of classified portal since 2001, I have managed many online and print & online classified publication in Hong Kong with my latest responsibility to manage the leading recruitment classified products (ClassifiedPost.com and JiuJik.com). I have also managed another classified company (CareerTimes.com.hk and Yellow Pages HK). If there is one thing in common amongst all these ventures in my career, I have witnessed rapid changes the life cycle of many industries. What's driving such rapid change in industries from manufacturing, computer, telecom, media to most industries is the advancement of technologies. Or you can also say that it's the democratization of technologies. Depending on which viewpoint you take, the changes are very exciting with all the possibilities offered by technologies but challenging as many old ways of life are simply being replaced by the new ones.
So.....much of what I think today is about adaptation and growth of our life and career, in contrary to a much more "technology focused" topics in my earlier years. If there is one common theme about life, if you ask me these days, it's about embracing the new and survive in a happy and sustainable manner.
This blog is an opportunity for me to share my viewpoints in quiet private moment. A way for me to relax and consolidate my experiences and thoughts such that I will have a happy and sustainable growing life!
